I have a 2001 X5 and have crossed the 100,000 mile mark. I have had the airflow sensor, three window regulators and currrently I have to get the motor and transmission mounts replaced as well as the control unit for the xenon low beam headlight which the part costs $400 + without installation. There is nothing that costs less than $300 to be fixed on the x5.

Great SAV, but can be expensive when not under waranty.

Window Reg- $400 per window min.
Airflow Sensor- $400
Motor transmission mounts-$700
control unit- $400 up part only dealership $467
Oil change- $120
Spark plugs- $15 each

these are the things that break down. i have 136,000 miles on mine.
